Request New Service

Please come to our office at 100 Rogers St Bluefield, WV 24701 (M-F 8:00am to 04:00pm) to set up new service.

Be prepared to provide the following information:
The address where you wish to start service
Your daytime phone number, including area code
Account # from the water company
Valid photo ID
$70.00 security deposit (cash or check only)
A lease might be required in some situations.

*Applications submitted via fax or email will not be authorized, until the photo ID and $70.00 deposit (cash or check only) are received.

New Service Application

Terminate Service

Please call the office at 304-325-3681 (M-F 8:00am to 04:00pm) to terminate service.

The account will remain in the customer’s name until the Sanitary Board of Bluefield receives the final meter reading from the water company. This process can take up to two months because sewer billing is billed one month behind water.

When you contact us, please provide
Your Sanitary Board of Bluefield account number.
Your daytime phone number, including area code
The address where you wish to stop service
Your forwarding address if applicable.


Disconnect Notice for Customers

For customers whose sewer account becomes delinquent, you will receive a termination letter in the mail stating your last day for payment before your water account is shut off.

Should your water service be terminated, in addition to the delinquent balance, you will be responsible for paying a service charge of $20.00 for the disconnection and $20.00 for the reconnection of your account. The total amount must be paid prior to your water service being reinstated.

You have the right to challenge the termination if you believe any of the following conditions apply to you:
Any portion of the bill is in dispute.
You are being charged for service not received.
The information reflected on the termination notice concerning your account is incorrect.
You are able to pay only in installments.

If the reason for your challenge is 1, 2 or 3 you will have to pay the amount not in dispute. If the reason for your challenge is number 4, we will attempt to negotiate a deferred payment contract with you. You must notify our office before the date of termination in order to protect your rights under this Public Service Commission rule. Contact the Delinquent Accounts Manager at 304-325-3681 at our office between the hours of 8:00am and 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.

If you are not satisfied with our resolution of the matter, you have the right to file an appeal with the Public Service Commision of West Virginia. You will be required to pay the bill while the appeal is pending. There is no charge associated with filing an appeal and you may do so without the assistance of an attorney. To file an appeal with the PSC you may call the toll free telephone number 1-800-642-8544 or write to this address: Utility Appeal, Public Service Commission of WV, P.O. Box 812, Charleston, WV 25323.

You will receive a courtesy call 36 hours prior to termination of your water service. The Sanitary Board of Bluefield has elected to use an automated voice message system to notify customers.
